This is a pick-your-own partner single elimination match play tournament that will continue for several weeks. On Saturday, May 14, two-man teams will be assigned tee times and play 18 holes for the purpose of seeding positions in the match-play portion of the tournament that will be played throughout the summer.
Start: Tee times for seeding round on May 9. After that, competitors have the responsibility of negotiating a mutually agreeable tee time. Please try to play your matches in a timely manner.
Format: This is a net tournament. In the Saturday seeding phase of the tournament, players will get their strokes off the card based on 85% handicap and play one best ball from the two-man team. After the seeding round, the pairings for the tournament will be posted as well as the time table for the remainder of the matches until a champion is determined. In the match play portion of the tournament, each player will stroke off the lowest handicap player in the match at 90% of the difference. The handicap used will be the current USGA handicap at the time of the match.
Prizes: There will be gross and net prizes awarded for the May 9 seeding phase of the tournament. In addition, prizes will be awarded to the winning team, runner up, 3rd and 4th place finishers.
Entry fee: $40 per player must be submitted by April 29. Entry fees and information must be deposited in the Men’s Association box in the pro shop. Checks should be made out to the SSCCMGA.

‘Player of the Year’ points: Each Player on the top 16 net teams in the Summer Cup tournament will earn the following points: Each member of the winning team receives 50 points. 2nd – 44 points each; 3rd ( tie ) – 35 points each ( each semi-finalist team member who fails to reach the final round); 5th ( tie ) – 17.5 points each ( each quarterfinalist team member who fails to reach the semi-final round); 9th ( tie ) - 10 points each ( each team member who wins their first round match but fails to reach the quarter-final round ).
