This tournament will consist of 60 two-man teams, made up of one member and one guest.
Start: Shot gun start.
Important information: There will be a Friday night meet and greet smoker that is optional. At this smoker, tournament officials will review the rules and logistics involving the two-day event. There will also be an informal two-man tournament preceding the smoker on Friday afternoon that is voluntary. More information about this will be posted prior to the tournament.
Format: Each two-man team will be placed into one of ten flights, based on the team’s combined handicap index. Each flight will consist of six two-man teams. Members will play at 80% of their handicap while guests will be play at 80% of their handicap minus one stroke. There will be three nine-hole matches against teams in your flight on Saturday, July 16. There will be two nine-hole matches against teams in your flight on Sunday, July 17. Each hole in the match is worth 2 points. The team that wins the hole receives the two points. If the hole is halved, both teams receive one point. The team that loses the hole receives no points. At the end of nine holes, the team with the most points wins the match. The team that accumulates the most points over the five matches will win their flight. Flight winners will then compete in a shoot-out to determine the overall winner of the tournament.
Prizes: There will be gross and net prizes awarded in each flight as well as prizes for skins and closest to the pin contests.
Entry fee: To be determined. Entry fee must be submitted by July 4. Entry fees and information must be deposited in the Men’s Association box in the pro shop. Checks should be made out to the SSCCMGA. Space is limited so the first forty-eight teams to sign up and pay will make up the field.
